The first Sonic game was a fine introduction to the gameplay and physics that define the series, but its sequel is a more effective beginning to the overall narrative by giving greater sense of the big picture at play. Multiple paragraphs are spent on this description of the creepy Sonic image, but I’ll be honest, once I got to “hyper-realistic” I started skimming the page and I’m not going to bother to do a closer reading. I guarantee that whatever you’re picturing is, if not scarier than what was actually described, at least more amusing. Earlier on SteamDB the release date was tipped to be 8 November. On the new merch page, the date is 15 November indicating that we can expect the game to drop somewhere in November. Although getting a DLC even before the actual release of the game is unusual, it seems that this indeed will be the case with Sonic Frontiers. It is not necessarily a bad thing as people will have more content in the game right at the release. Amidst the constant debate surrounding the game, SEGA has claimed that the game indeed is very refined and you have to play it before being judgemental about it. From what we’ve seen so far, it appears Sega is backing the wrong proverbial horse. I’d sure like to have sat in on past investor calls where the execs said they were aiming for ‘a satisfactory 6/10’, though. If you do manage to play Sonic Adventure in its original form, then you’ll find that much of its charm and invention still holds up.

They really need to remaster this classic for the Xbox 720. Shame on Sega for releasing this game in this state, I feel for all those that worked on it as it’s clearly unfinished. 3 version was delayed to allow more time to incorporate the downloadable content, and thus launched alongside it.
